"Suvin cotton" is a superior hybrid created by crossing "Sujata cotton," grown only in southern India, with "Sea Island cotton," grown on Caribbean islands, and is regarded as one of the finest and rarest cottons in the world. In addition to the natural beauty of the yarn's sheen, fabric made from it has the softest possible feel. Only the first and second pickings of this cotton are called "Suvin Gold," and its rarity is said to account for just 0.03% of India's total cotton production. Due to limited climate conditions and long cultivation periods, it can only be grown in a small number of regions, making mass production impossible.
